Converters and producers in the printing industry are facing various challenges today: Competitive markets, legal requirements as well as continuously changing trends and expectations of the end customer markets. To be as fast and flexible as required in this dynamic surrounding, the production line needs to be perfectly interconnected and run seamlessly. From May 29th to June 1st GOEBEL IMS demonstrates how it supports customers in successfully overcoming these challenges at this year’s Print4All.

Thanks to more than 165 years of experience in the converting industry, GOEBEL IMS has a deep understanding of its customers’ needs and provides tailor-made solutions for any application. The worldwide renowned manufacturer of slitting and winding machines knows that the perfect fit is a main key to success and that such a fit is always tailor-made. Therefore, GOEBEL IMS takes every customer request for an innovative customized solution as a welcome challenge.

GOEBEL IMS offers a wide portfolio of over 20 machine types for paper and board, tobacco paper, film, alufoil and aseptic packaging to meet these challenges. Two excellent examples of perfect customization upon customers’ needs are in focus of GOEBEL IMS’ appearance at Print4All 2018: XTRASLIT 2 and RAPID D1, solutions for processing paper, tobacco paper and film. The further developed XTRASLIT 2 offers even more flexibility and enlarged variations of applications. One main improvement is the higher web tension, available upon customers’ request. Additional features such as an automatic format set up and an automatic unloading system with downstream simplify the production and handling process. The new machine set up and the communication panel further enhance the usability. The XTRASLIT 2 covers a working width of up to 3,600 mm. The machine’s winding stations can accommodate a remarkably high roll weight of up to 5,000 kg with an unwind diameter of up to 2,000 mm and a rewind diameter of up to 1,300 mm. In the process, the system permits speeds of up to 1,200 m/min depending on the material. The state-of-the-art slitter rewinder provides maximum performance and safety in a minimum of space and is now also available for the converting of paper.

The RAPID D1 is GOEBEL IMS’ long-term success and takes customization to the next level. The high-performing slitter rewinder represents the tailor-made philosophy of GOEBEL IMS. The RAPID series is dedicated to cover the needs of customers in many different markets. It converts working widths of up to 2,000 mm and processes rolls with a stock reel diameter of up to 1,500 mm into finished rolls with a diameter of up to 1,000 mm. In combination with a printing line guide, this machine is able to slit special papers with a precision of +/-0.1 mm at speeds of up to 1,000 m/min. The winding concept guarantees outstanding finished roll separation and optimum roll quality for the conversion of cigarette and tipping papers, technical papers, board strips for packaging as well as siliconized papers and flexible packaging materials. With its various drives, it satisfies nearly every web tension requirement. Therefore, it is suitable for a wide range of applications in many different segments and industries.
