We are seeking a skilled technician to provide mechanical/electronic production support and operator training for our SEI Laser products.  Additional responsibilities include managing projects from post-sale to installation to ongoing customer service support. This position can lead into a technical leadership role overseeing our laser Service staff and creation of an industry leading customer support program. We are looking for a technician to provide exceptional customer support at customer’s sites in North America.

Primary Duties

  • Support Matik customers in North America as part of the customer support team
  • Install and demonstrate various laser cutting and marking systems machines.
  • Train Matik customer personnel in operation of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot software, electronic and mechanical equipment issues.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of machine operation procedures, work instructions, detailed drawings and visual aids.
  • Collaborate with other Matik and vendor personnel to assure customer specifications and goals are met.
  • Adhere to company procedures/quality standards and ensure compliance to customer specifications.
  • May be assigned other duties to assure the effective operations of the department or organization.

Qualifications

  • High School or Technical School education focusing on electronic, electrical or manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of mechanical & electric/electronic troubleshooting & service experience.
  • Experience with lasers, robotics, automation or mechatronic systems considered advantageous.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and excellent organization skills.
  • Able to read mechanical, pneumatic and electric drawings.
  • Trouble shooting experience via PLC is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret production work instructions, routers and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from operators, engineers and supervisors.
  • Ability to produce service & expense reports on a weekly basis.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and follow government regulations.
  • Advanced computer proficiency with MS Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook), Adobe products, CRM and graphic file manipulation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass security clearance required.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • Italian, Spanish language skill is helpful but not required.
  • United States citizen required.
  • Spend 6-8 weeks training at factories in Europe.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds without aid.
